I started baking from an early age, inspired and taught by my late Grandma Nancy Melia. I decided to name the business after my grandma as the skills she taught me in my childhood have proved invaluable in achieving my goals, both in life and in my career.
I have always had a passion for creativity, and this has been demonstrated throughout my education; achieving 2 A’s at A-Level in Art and Textiles. In order to boost my skills within patisserie, I am currently training as a Pastry and Confectionery Chef at Darlington College.
Cakes By Melia uses only the best ingredients possible including established branded butter and fresh free range eggs. Cakes By Melia uses inspiration from nature, flowers, Marie Antoinette and the Baroque era, to create unique works of art with a modern twist, taking into account current wedding fashion trends.
I will work with you creating a bespoke design that will suit your personal style.
From the first consultation, to cake tasting, I will deliver and set up the cake at the venue. This is all part of the bespoke wedding cake service, to ensure that your cake is perfect right down to the very last detail. Note: Free delivery for wedding cakes in the Darlington area only. Delivery costs will apply for orders outside of this area.
Cakes By Melia also offers a range of Gluten-free cakes and cupcakes at an additional cost in plain vanilla flavour, zesty lemon cake, carrot cake and rich chocolate cake.
